Posted Nov 27, 2009 By EMC News

EMC NEWS - West Carleton resident Carole Moran McCaskill, author of What Color Is My Ribbon and West Carleton Illustrator, Sonya Cathcart will be at Kanata Centrum Chapters on Dec. 5 from 2-4 p.m. for a meet and greet.

What Colour is My Ribbon is a living journal that takes a courageous woman and her network of friends through her journey fighting ovarian cancer. It's a humorous, insightful look at chemotherapy, surgery and recovery. Stories told from one girlfriend to another, things you'd be afraid to ask, and humor where you wouldn't expect to find it! It's a story about a woman's growing understanding and appreciation for her friendships, and credits those friendships with helping her beat cancer. This is a true story that needs to be told, and offers hope and humor to those touched by cancer.

LOCAL ART AS WELL

Cathcart's cartoon like illustrations mesh perfectly with the light, humorous approach to the writing and bring the humor to life. What Color is My Ribbon is a light easy read that everyone can enjoy.

Moran McCaskill is a bundle of energy, a force of nature, an inspiration to her friends and family. This fierce, brave and funny 40-something year old faced down ovarian cancer, and on the way, learned a lot of very share-able lessons about friendship, courage, and hope. She will make you laugh, cry, and act - to support your friends, fight cancer, live to the fullest.
