Ottawa Senators Alumni team returning to Arnprior
Posted Feb 5, 2010 By EMC NewsEMC Sports - The Ottawa Senators Alumni and the Arnprior Packers Alumni will take to the ice for a charity exhibition game Saturday, March 6 at the Nick Smith Centre at 7 p.m., in support of the 4th annual Dare to Care Telethon, raising funds for the "Care Coach", local para transit servicing individuals of all ages.
Tickets are only $7 and organizers are sure that there are many hockey fans and supporters who would like to see the game and have some fun. The game will be followed by a "Meet the Players" reception in the main hall and entertainment will be provided courtesy of Jesse's D J Service with Mike Perreault. Prizes include a 50/50 house draw and draws for hockey sticks signed by all the Alumni Players.
Ticket sales are at the door, or in advance at various local businesses (indicated on the poster displayed) or by calling 613-623-7981. For further information on this event and if you would like to participate, please contact Sherry Steeves at 613-623-7981. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The first Dare to Care Telethon held in May 2007, was a great success. In February of 2008, the first "Care Coach" was introduced to the Arnprior-Braeside-McNab community to serve persons of all ages. Since then, the Care Coach has made over 2,500 trips, locally and to Ottawa, Pembroke, North Bay, Almonte, Pakenham, Constance Bay, Fitzroy Harbour and Renfrew.
The 4th annual Dare to Care Telethon is May 16.
