Is there more winter coming? Only the groundhog knows for sure

EMC Lifestyle - Winter carnival organizers in the area were likely waiting with baited breath this morning when local groundhogs peered from their holes.

If the Galetta gopher and Woodlawn Willie saw their shadows this morning (Thursday) on Groundhog Day it's supposed to mean there at least six more weeks of winter.

That would be music to the ears of organizers of upcoming winter carnivals, fun days and ice fishing derbies in Carp, Constance Bay and Kinburn and Fitzroy Harbour.

If the groundhogs don't see their shadows, winter is supposed to end early.
