Family Day fun planned for West Carleton Nordic Ski Club

EMC Sports - No plans for Family Day? It's is coming up on Monday, Feb. 20, why not enjoy some fresh air and fun with the West Carleton Nordic Ski Club? The club is planning a cross-country ski event for teams of family and friends to get out and enjoy the trails with a little friendly fun competition.

The event consists of a cross-country ski route through the trails with a number of pitstops/challenges along the way. The ski course would be suitable for all ages with various fun challenges throughout the trail - speed is not the emphasis. This event is open to both club members and non-members, all are welcome./

The course will begin at 11 a.m. and should last about an hour and will finish at the clubhouse where results will be tallied and lunch will be available at a nominal cost./

Same-day registration is permitted however pre-registration is preferred so that the number of participants can be estimated in advance. All participants are asked to be at the park by no later than 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 20.

All you need to bring are your skis, any water/snacks you may want while on the course and your team!

The trails are located in the Fitzroy Provincial Park and are groomed for both classic and skate skiing.
